Time Tracking 4.0 or real time tracking integrations
Simon Schilling
I cannot imagine that anyone is able to use time tracking in Clickup seriously. If you earn money by selling your time this feature is just way too weak.
I see two options:
- Complete new implementation to make it useful and not just a gimmick.
- Real integration with all sorts of time trackers, which do the job nicely.
For me it's the biggest pain with Clickup. I like to use the estimate, I track my time in Clockify so that I have a reliable source for billing my customers but I am missing the link between estimate and tracked.
There are endless missing features so that I do not really know where to start. I try to list a few, please feel free to complete the list:
- No export
- No calendar
- no reliable reporting (empty dashboards)
- no real exports
- complex and confusing UI
- no way to validate missing time
- …
The "Integartion" with clockify is not really an integration. It's not syncing at all. So I built my own sync script to try to keep things in sync. But I am not willing to spend more time into this.

Coming back to upvote this again. The time tracking feature is less than what I would call minimally functional, especially for teams with multiple clients needing multiple reporting options and time rounding.
I've spent the last 2 months researching and trialing EVERY SINGLE app I can find out there and none of them do this. I'd be willing to upgrade my plan and add my entire team if we could make this happen.

The time tracking is probably one of the weakest features here yet it should be foundational. There are bugs all over the place.

Agreed. Time tracking needs a real update with settings options. Integrations are not comprehensive and not very useful.
