Threaded comments expanded by default

It's so easy to miss the threaded reply as it's currently collapsed by default... could there be an option to keep them expanded? Thanks!

We're looking into this further, and we have a few questions; your feedback is invaluable!
- We support disabling threaded comments (its a ClickApp). Does that solve your need, or do you want the ability to keep threads enabled but just see all of the replies expanded?
- We recently added "Quote Reply" to ClickUp Chat, and are working to bring it to tasks, Docs, etc. - Does this solve the need for being able to reply directly to someone and thus disable threads to solve the visibility problem?(photos below)

I'll reiterate what others have said, the ability to disable threaded comments is really only an option before threaded comments have been added. There's no way to migrate comments from threaded to non-threaded without losing the threads.

No, because the problem is that right now it's too easy to look over any threaded comments... meaning, they're really great to have... but if you can't see them they're useless.
It's a great feature that winds up causing confusion. Giving an option to expand threads by default will force my team members to see the comments, when they are accustomed to just scrolling past.

Disabling threaded comments is not a practical option once they are in use, as all existing replies become hidden, effectively losing access to valuable information.
Please provide an option to show all replies by default.
Quote Reply would only be a viable alternative if you provide a migration path from threaded to non-threaded comments, preserving all existing content in chronological order.

Exactly and please just show them indented, in a compact style. This way it needs no quoting for a "thread" but you don't have to expand them manually each time. The new compactness is great BTW!

As far as I can tell, disabling threaded comments via the ClickApp
permanently hides
all previous threaded comments. This is exactly the opposite of what we want. We need to be able to see all

Brendan W Quote replies would be my preference over threaded comments. Most of our Threads were started by accident by using the main Reply button in Inbox. If a discussion becomes tangential and long enough to warrant a new thread, then I would rather move it onto a subtask or other categorization enabled by the ClickUp hierarchy so it gets a name. The current feature set does not enable this workflow yet though because
- There is no one-click reply from Inbox to continue a discussion with the Threads ClickApp disabled.
- There is no admin ability to move comments around the hierarchy.

LBell I don't think an indentation level per reply like Reddit would work very well in the narrow Activity sidebar.

Brendan W no this wouldn't solve the issue. Threaded comments are really useful, what is frustrating is the UI. For our team expanded by default isn't as preferable as simply making it more obvious that a comment has threaded replies and navigating between the main feed and the thread feed.

This is all so confusing. And now chatting with ClickUp agents more so. Most the time we don’t even need threads for one on one conversations. ClickUp please sort this ss out asap (across the platform - not just task comments)

100% this is a major flaw in the commented structure of ClickUp tasks. These should be able to be expanding inline to have a continual conversation similar to nearly all other messaging platforms out there.
