Had to disable threaded comments completely as this was killing productivity, everyone missing messages.

+1 - Our company recently joined up with clickup, from Asana. By far this is one of the largest pain point comments I get from our users. Nice that it's a notification in the inbox view but that's not great when your zooming through actioning/updating tasks and you miss replies. There are new comments that are asking questions where the reply already exists tucked inside a previous comment.

As a workflow company this is a large oversight. Coding is complex and in layers so perhaps they've coded themselves into a corner.

At minimum there could be logic that states if new comment is unread colour parent comment in X colour. The breadcrumbs we get currently are in the bottom right corner . Tiny icon and text showing number of replies. Very easy to miss at the speed of work.

We are using the chat function, and it's one winning feature comparing to other purpose-build AI super-powered apps we are looking at. The Chat function can be interactively used with tasks which is why we moved over from Teams. Linking the comments into the tasks is just super amazing...but then we go into the task, and our chat comments are collapsed with other unimportant task activity log entries.

Can we please have these comments to not be collapsed / hidden in the activity section of tasks, and most importantly, linked threads from chats should also not be collapsed AND hidden (especially the original comment)?

Come on, guys doo something with this. Many comments needs context, but with this interface it's disaster.

Comments in the Activity Feed should be a single flow thread (no sub-threads), where a reply to a comment creates a new comment at the bottom of the feed, but has a link back to comment that was replied to (see messaging apps like WhatsApp and iOS Messaging).

For comments that do need to branch out, I suggest the ability to push the conversation to the newly released Chat Feature, as sometimes these side conversations can travel far and wide as to their applicable subjects, tasks, and people involved, and so restricting this to the Activity Feed overly restricts this conversation to a single task.

Please change this UX. I want comments expanded, it's a huge pain to find them sometimes. It's also confusing in notifications, because it doesn't show the reply with the context of the original comment.

Expanded comments should be the default, I don't want to hide information.

It appears this issue has persisted for over 4.5 years now so I won't hold my breath that it will actually be addressed, however it's a significant oversight that makes me not want to reply to any comments directly. Instead I find myself creating new threads and tagging the user to ensure they got the message and everyone else can see the comment and hope that the other members of my team remember to do the same...

I'd rather not have any threads at all and just use the comment feature to reply to other comments in chronological order (like a WhatsApp chat). Does anyone really need multiple threads in the comments section on a task???

Great app otherwise tho!
