Templates for Sprint Lists
complete
Simon Bein
It would be really good if you could set a template which a ClickUp Sprint Folder automatically applies whenever it creates a new sprint list.
Case and Point: Currently whenever we start a new sprint, we have to completely customize our list views again, which is rather cumbersome.

You can now use a template to create your Sprints!
Whether you want to pick a template when manually creating Sprints, or set a template to be used for all newly created Sprints in a Folder, we got you covered!
Lastly, for Workspaces with multiple teams using Sprints, you can also set a default template on the Sprints ClickApp which allows you to set the default template on all newly created Sprint Folders!

Any update here? This so painful for us right now.

Is there a reason this only has to apply to sprints? I would love to be able to apply a view template to all lists at the folder level, whether they are sprints or not

I need this too! Each time a new sprint is created, I have to manually add the whiteboard and its template for our retrospective. I also have to manually add my personal views which filter my own work. Having to create these over and over again is inefficient. We also use the Workload view which would ideally match the dates/use fixed dates that match the sprint. I have to make several adjustments to that one each time too to make it count by sprint points (not by hours). Being able to set the views at the folder level and have them copy over each time would be such a time savings.

Hey, everyone! Small update for you all:
As we're still building out the ability to pick a template at the Sprint Folder level, we just shipped an improvement to include Sprints/Sprint Folders when saving templates (doesn't matter if its a Space, Folder, or List template).
What this means is that you can now use a standard List template to create a Sprint List in your Sprint Folders manually! The current dates and status of the Sprints will carry over, so make sure to enable Custom Sprint Duration to modify them. Give it a try and let us know what you think 😉
We're hoping to delivery the ability to select a default template for Sprint Folders in 2 to 3 weeks from now!

Brendan W Not quite sure I'm following? Can you provide a loom to explain/show what you mean?

Brendan W Sounds good. But, could you please share steps to perform this or share a screen recording?

Brendan W Thanks for the update! 😊 I saved my current Sprint List as a Template then added a new List under my Sprint folder using the Sprint List Template I just saved. It was added as a Sprint List but unfortunately, I think it doesn't recognize my sprint dates. It doesn't say anything about when that specific sprint will start and end. Is this an intended function?

Brendan W Just checking to see if there is an update on this? I use automatic sprints, and it would be amazing to set up my preferred standard sprint views and have that applied to every new sprint that is automatically made.

We're in development!

Brendan W Great to hear, thanks!
Which option will be developed now?
Brendan W
Michael Guntermann At this time we're building with templates to deliver a faster solution, but we'll consider a quick "carryover" setting in the future!

Option 1 please (Y)

Option 1 - List template please!

As already said #1 is more aligned with how the rest of Clickup works and it helps if you have many sprints in the organisation which all use the same template so I vote for #1.

#2 is simpler to use, while #1 is more aligned with how the rest of Clickup works, generally. I like simple so I vote for #2
