Tasks created in docs - set reference point/anchor in the doc where the task exists
Esme
When we're creating tasks from notes in a doc, it would be great if, when we click on the 'Reference' doc in the task view, it took us right back to the specific paragraph in the doc where the task was created. Currently, it opens the document and puts us at the top. When a doc is a call recording transcript, it would be great if the link to go straight to the paragraph where the task exists/was created so that we have the context of the task

Automatically Link Tasks back to Docs
Mike Najera
Currently, you are able to create a task from within a document. A link to the task is provided on the doc. It would be very helpful if the task also included a link back to the document that the task was created from. This way, you could group tasks related to a specific doc, meeting minutes, agenda, project notes, etc.

Erin Stewart Your suggestion isn't exactly the same as the one I merged into, but it's close enough that if we did work on these things, we'd probably work on them together.
Sounds like what we're talking about here is relationships between Docs and Tasks but as the actual content block level. Is that right? (cc: Esme)

Justin Hunter: That's what I meant love, yeah! When you have a super long document, resulting in many tasks, it would be great for the backlink in the task to take you back to the doc to the place where the task exists/was created, the block link (or even a heading). Just so that you don't have to scroll through everything to get to the context of the task!

Add comments to a task from Doc text

We use Docs for meeting notes and really appreciate being able to create tasks directly from our notes. Would also really appreciate being able to highlight text in our Docs and add the selected material as a comment to already existing tasks.

When you have a 10k word document, being taken back to the top of the doc from the related task isn't ideal. Upvoting!
