task template changes List

From Support ticket: it shouldn't matter where the original task was located when you created a template out of it. The purpose of the template is to allow you to create the task where you need it now, not where it was created from.

This functionality should be fixed. You may have to update your task templates for this to work. If you are still running into issues, can you please file your bug at the link below?
Thank you!

You should be able to select the list that you want the task to be on first and then select the template without it then changing the list. It is time consuming to either have to select the correct list again after selecting the template or have to move the task that gets added to an incorrect list.

Elena Beutler I AGREE. This is a bit frustrating, especially since this never used to be the case for us

Yeah I just filed a bug report for this not realizing you had to manually set the list. Not intuitive at all.

I totally agree with this request and am very sad to see this hasn't been addressed yet since 2021! How has this not been addressed in the past 2 years?
Keeping the default “In list-name” set to the same list that the user has loaded in the background even after selecting a task template to use is just plain logical. It shouldn't matter where the original task was located when you create a task from template.
Unfortunately, this bug still exists where the list selection changes to the list where I created the task template from (which is not what we want) and this will continue to be a major issue in our team’s task-creation process, causing tasks to appear in completely wrong locations that will take time out of my day to correct. This bug should be fixed ASAP. =/
