Subtasks in Multiple Lists for Business Plan
Joshua Borger
The business plan allows for unlimited tasks in multiple lists, but only 1000 uses for subtasks in multiple lists. This makes actually using tasks in multiple lists not that helpful, because using subtasks is so common for us. It seems like subtasks should be unlimited as well for the business plan, since they are for parent tasks. Not having unlimited uses basically ruins the tasks in multiple lists for us, because we use this for projects with lots of subtasks.

Having such a restriction for clearly a business plan, where tasks are more complex, more collaborative, and broken into many phases, that limit sounds so ridiculous. "Solution?" Teams will often create individual tasks because of that, ending up not being organised at the end of it; getting lost in the endless tasks. Then what’s the point of having it or even paying more for such a feature that would definitely be included? ClickUp is simply restricting the most basic feature of the core of purpose of having sprints and organising your workload with tasks. So what's the point here?

Having a (hidden) limit on uses for Subtasks to add to various lists makes the Sprints feature almost unusable. This is a very basic feature crucial for managing any type of work. Most Tasks need to be broken down into Subtasks, and they need to go on different Sprints most of the time. No notice of use limit puts our whole productivity at risk and makes this tool highly unreliable. What pop up will stop me from performing my duties tomorrow? I don't have time to go read all the small letters of all the available features you have? How about you slow down from flashing your AI additions and focus on actual useful features at reasonable prices?

This was an (unpleasant) surprise!! Crazy that it wasn't documented or visible anywhere o.O

This needs to be fixed. The ability to assign subtasks across different sprints was a core feature that supported our entire team's planning and execution. Losing access to it has disrupted our workflow and significantly reduced efficiency. This change isn’t just inconvenient , it impacts project delivery and may force us to explore other platforms if not resolved.

There is no counter that shows how much I have already consumed, much less an alert that it is closing, suddenly it stops and that's it... There is also no option to contract another 1000 operations, I have to migrate to another plan, which will practically double the cost with the tool. I created the company's processes with this functionality, now we'll have to redo them. Really disappointed...

A limited usage makes it just a feature trial, not an actual subscribed service. You lose access to it after the grant is fully used. And you still pay the same amount for the service.

Not being able to share subtasks individually further adds to the issue.

I understand your frustration. It does seem counterintuitive to limit subtasks when they are such a crucial part of managing complex projects. Subtasks often help break down larger tasks into manageable pieces, and having a cap on them can indeed hinder productivity. https://www.securespend.com.co

Yes I totally agree. It really doesn't make sense as to why that should cost more money. It seems like a gimmick to just get people to pay more for no reason. It does make task in multiple list useless because most tasks have subtasks that need to go with them
