Subtask due date relative to task

Example: If the due date for a task is set to 20/4/18 then setting a date for a subtask as 'main - 2 days' would set the due date as 18/4/18
Even better if there was some way to have this as 'main - 2
working
days' although understandably that's a bit harder to doUse case: When making a report, there are subtasks that should be done 1 day before, 3 days before etc. and it's time-consuming to have to manually set 20 or so subtask dates when making a new 'prepare report' task
---------
As I understand that this may be difficult to do (and seeing as 'Task Template' is on the April roadmap) a suggestion is to instead have the option to save 'relative subtask dates' as a field in a task template
This way, there would not need to be any storing of 'relative formula' and 'actual date' for subtasks, and it would just initialise the new task with dates which could then be stored and changed as normal

This is great but it seems to me there is an inconsistency between how relative dates are generated when creating from task template or list template.
Task& subtask templates work as I expect; generating dates backwards as it were; with subtasks' due dates being generated relative to the task's due date...
but when generating a List from a template, it is asking me not for the due date of the list as the starting point, but for the first due date for the first task in the list.
this then means i have to then make a note of the time difference between the due date of the list and first task for that template, and count backwards to get all my dates relative to the deadline of the list!

Justin: Hey Justin! Thank you for your feedback here. I have passed this along to the rest of the team, and I'll let you know if we decide on changing this behavior. :)

Thanks very much Zeb - this has already just shaved off the half-hour I spend every morning shifting due dates around :)

Aleena Baig: Awesome! Anything we could do to make it better? I do have a question - do you 100% of the time choose to remap subtask dates? If so, would you like us to do it automatically each time instead of having to confirm?
And if the answer is yes there, should we do it automatically for everyone on your team (global) or make it a user preference?

Zeb: I don't use it all the time, so my preference would be to keep it an option to confirm each time
Zeb
Aleena Baig: Got it, thanks!
