Stop auto save from impacting search filter in Views
Katey's Auto Update
When I am doing a search on my side for something I am working on. It also applies across to others working in the same list. When the limitation should only apply to me and what I'm working on - not for everybody working in that list.
The attached screen shot is my collegaue trying to figure out where all her tasks are gone and it's only because I'm working on something and saw the 'miss' in the search field that I realised what was happening.

Hey, Jessica Ballard!
I've gone ahead and moved this Canny post to our Feature Request board!
Please continue to leave any comments on how changing this functionality could improve your use case!
Thanks!

A few thoughts on this:
• Wanting to save search text as a view seems like an exception case in general. Could make the argument that it should not be a default behavior when autosave is enabled.
• When autosave is not enabled, the notification at the bottom is a nuisance when using the search.
Suggestions
• Make a global user preference to ignore search activity as a save trigger.
• Give an option when enabling autosave for the view to ignore search activity.

This happens to us as well. We have autosave turned OFF, but it autosaves everything anyway. Very frustrating. We do have a business account, fyi for anyone thinking that upgrading will fix it.

This should not be something that can be turned on accidentally, and should require some kind of administration rights or at least permission of the affected parties to affect others. I strongly recommend that you turn off the autosave feature until you can set this feature up properly, because it is a giant PITA.

Is this no longer in the feature requests? It shows as uncategorized.

Our team has the 'Autosave View' button turned off and the searches and filters than one person applies are still appearing for others. Frustrating. Seems there is a bug.

William Fielding: Yes! Feel like this started happening in February... It didn't do this before. I am tempted to upgrade to the Business package as you can set "Default for everyone" but honestly I shouldn't have to pay extra to keep my boards looking like I want and making it harder for the way another team member sees things. The entire point of ClickUp is so that everyone can see it their own way - not to fight one another in organizing your board.

Thanks for letting us know that the filter settings of one user are appearing for other users!
Is the view being saved or have auto-save on? If so, this is actually intended behavior. If not, then we would want to help investigate this for you to make sure a bug isn't taking place.
There other additional options for a view in the "more settings" too. For example, each user can duplicate a view and set it to personal, this way filter settings would not appear for any other users.
We will keep an eye out for your response so we can provide next steps on getting this resolved for your team!

Matthew Wester: I tested today and yes it seems to only happen when AutoSave is on. This however is not helpful use case. I have AutoSave on as I am the one that creates and saves views for the team in terms of how the lists are setup, however having a search term autosave is not helpful at all. Would it be possible to put in a feature request to have this either a separated autosave or removed from autosave? Or is there a way to filter what is included in autosave already?

Matthew Wester: Thanks for the reply Matthew - this is an auto-save issue. Sometimes, when the flyout window pops out in the corner people click auto-save in error. I've stopped the behavior by protecting the view of the board (for others wanting to know how to protect the view - here is the clickup how to: https://docs.clickup.com/en/articles/2986479-protect-a-view)
In an ideal world, it would be better for the default to be non-autosave mode and that we switch in on if needed.

Matthew Wester: We do not use autosave on anything, and we are having the same issue. And frankly, ClickUp sells on having the ability to reorganize views so it makes sense for each member that is using it. I mean isn't that why you charge per seat?
It is frustrating to me that ClickUp didn't do this until around February, when you repackaged the service and bumped the price up. So now you are telling me that unless I increase my subscription to Business, I can not have a private view so that when a team member changes their view it isn't changing everyone's view?
Sounds like it might be time to stop ClickUp and look at Asana or Monday

This has become a problem for my team as well. If 1 person on the team is searching for content, it limits the view of tasks for every member of the team making it easy to miss things.
Repro steps:
- Search for a term in list view (or any view) (Profile #1)
- Look at the same list on another user profile (Profile #2)
- See that the search field includes the term searched on profile #1
- Removing the search term on profile #2 then removes the search for profile #1
