Status "Progress" icons assume too much

The circles "filling up" assumes statuses are always in chronological order of completeness. It also assumes the Status is always a phase in a workflow, when the reality is some customers use Statuses like "On Track" or "Blocked" which don't make sense with this visual paradigm at all.
I think this UI change introduces more confusion than what it brings to the table. The circle is nice, though!

This is controlled via a ClickApp, so can be turned on or off for a given Space at any time. Cheers!

Turn Off Percentage Icon for Statuses (ClickUp 3.0)

Our statuses are not a progress or percentage in many of the cases they are being used. Can we turn off the icon that make it look like part of the pie has been completed as it goes through various status updates?

We're considering solutions for this (and are aware it would be an issue for some workflows, originally task types were going to solve this):
- Task Types (was originally planned but feature hasn't been completed yet, for things like "records" you wouldn't have stages)
- Statuses individually (ability to set a progress)
- Lists: ability to turn off on a list level
- Ability to turn off on a more global level

Zeb: Even with normal tasks, having worked with customers for over a year, I'd say 80%+ of the time the Statuses don't reflect this consecutive stage view consistently. Common statuses like "On Hold" don't make sense with this, but at least being able to adjust this individually or globally should solve most issues (although defaulting to on or off will probably determine how it looks for 90% of customers).

For not started statuses, I also find the empty circle not intuitive in that it looks like it should be the multi-select circle to activate the BAT

I have a love/hate experience on this one, as I find it incredibly cool for straightforward workflows (content creation is a great example), but for "informational" workflows, this is too assumptive.
I would rather see a version of the auto-progress Custom Field that is powered by status progression rather than a visual representation via partially filled status colors.
Also, making these statuses into circles instead of squares makes it visually confusing compared to checklist items or using the bulk-action toolbar.

+strongly agree on this
It's an interesting feature, but it should be behind a ClickApp or something similar and be disabled by default to avoid confusion.
