Start Timer as Automation Action
Jack Sørensen
Currently time tracking can only trigger a certain range of time to be done, not simply start it. Would love to have a Start Timer as an Action, e.g. have time tracking when moved to In Progress list..

This feature is essential for professional service automation (ROI)
The current pain point:
Manual timer activation is the single biggest point of failure in time tracking accuracy. We estimate that consultants and agencies lose an average of 5–10 minutes of billable time per day due to forgotten timer starts or stops.
The value proposition:
Implementing an automated Start/Stop action linked to Status Changes (e.g., 'In Progress > Start, 'Waiting' > Stop) would ensure 100% data integrity for invoicing. This directly translates into an immediate, measurable Return on Investment (ROI) for every business user on the Business Plan.
We need the ability to automate the Live Timer itself, not just log a fixed time entry retrospectively. Please prioritize this for the Power Users of ClickUp."

So Much YES... Exactly what I was gonna say. Clearly late but just adding myself to the Pile.

Any idea if this is under consideration? I was able to set this up in Monday, before moving to ClickUp and it was REALLY useful to compare against estimated task times. Makes planning a lot easier.

This feature will also good solution for Time in/out in ClickUp. If the artist clicks Time in, the Time Tracked will start to run, and if the artist clicks Time out, the time tracked will stop.

Exactly! When I move my task to "progress status" I would like to start the timer. When I move my task from "progress status", I would like to stop the timer.

This, as well as an stop timer automation would be amazing. It also seems quite logical given the nature of time tracking.
