It seems strange that this isn't already the case - but the options for space colors should be the same as the options for list/folder colors. I color code all my spaces, but the color options available for lists and folders do not match. Some colors that are available for spaces are not available for lists & folders, and vice-versa. It limits the number of colors I can use. For instance, pink is available for spaces, but not for lists/folders.
