Smart Channel Migration for Spaces
Garima Sharma
If a communication channel already exists and later a dedicated Space is created for the same purpose, there should be a feature to directly attach or move the existing isolated channel into that Space instead of managing two separate channels.
Currently, the workflow requires creating a new channel within the Space, removing the earlier one, and asking all members to migrate manually. This creates unnecessary friction, breaks continuity, and fragments communication history.
This feature would also be highly useful during Slack imports. Right now, imported Slack channels remain as separate/isolated channels. If a Space is created later, there should be an option to integrate or move those existing channels into the Space seamlessly while preserving:
* Existing chat history
* Members
* Files and references
* Continuity of communication
This would ensure a smoother transition, reduce operational overhead, and maintain context without disrupting ongoing workflows.
