Hey all, thank you again for your feedback on this post. With the launch of ClickUp 3.0 we've seen strong improvement in performance. Overall app performance has increased by 2x, tasks and List views by 3x, and search is 5x faster!
We've also launched RapidViews DB, an innovative new database technology that loads that largest and most complex views almost instantly. Views that previously took 30 seconds now take around 1 second to load!
Having focused on performance and speed improvements in 3.0 we'll be closing this post.

I love ClickUp for the features and ease of doing things. But it's so painfully slow it's almost giving me carpal tunnel syndrome. If things don't improve; I'm leaving here once my current 1-year contract ends.

The software is very slow, my timelines occasionally disappear, and my tasks sometimes dissappear when selected. It's a great tool, but as of late, I've been having a really hard time getting it to run as it should

The amount of feature factory bloat that has been tacked on over time has led to ClickUp becoming painful to use.
In contrast, I've gotten back into Asana recently, which has far fewer capabilities, but is buttery smooth for opening tasks, editing details, dragging the order, etc.
My best guess: ClickUp needs to have some hard conversations about what users actually need vs. what initiatives will make Product Managers look good internally.

I feel this should be re-opened, the application has downgraded again after some months of great performance

As of today (October 2024) this is still SLOW. This shouldn't be set as COMPLETE.
One thing I notice is that when I quit the app and restart. It goes back to be quick but after a few clicks (click time tracker, add one entry, go to docs, go to a list) it's starting to get laggy.

Agreed. The refresh rate needs improving for sure. Dates & times are especially slow to input. Refreshing is required quite often, to ensure you are viewing the latest info.

Clickup has gotten so slow. Takes forever to open tasks, date them, assign people, etc.
I have wicked fast wifi so wifi is not the issue

I'm experiencing a lot of slowness while setting up automations, as well as ClickUp being slow for updating changes.
