Show subtasks under parent in Table view
David
Table view is great, but subtasks are detached from the main parent tasks.
Is there any way sub-tasks can be displayed under the parent tasks, maybe a tap in so they appear less in visual hierarchy?

Organized Subtasks on TableView

The rows aren't organized for subtasks like they are in the list view, which would make it very useful to have the subtasks organized in a way that shows Tasks -> Subtasks.
I think a solution would be to enable the "Tasks" column in the table view and allow sorting by it, so the Tables column is sorted and the subtasks follow that order.
Without this, it's messy.
The picture isn't order of:
- Task 1
-- Subtask 1
-- Subtask 2
-- Subtask 3
- Task 2
-- Subtask 1
-- Subtask 2
-- Subtask 3
- Task 3
-- Subtask 1
-- Subtask 2
-- Subtask 3
- Task 4
-- Subtask 1
-- Subtask 2
-- Subtask 3

That would really have to be a small task to opt for the view as “expanded” for subtasks as in list view!!!

This - along with a recent bug where custom text fields ignore "Click to edit cell" setting - is making the Table View pretty darn close to redundant...
It's only current function in our workflow is to use Table View to bulk rename tasks from a spreadsheet. But even then, it can become tedious when you have to spend most of of your time making sure your tasks and subtasks are in the correct order.
I don't understand how there isn't a simple way for Table View to inherit the task order from the list it's been duplicated from?

Cannot understand why this even needs to be requested!! Please execute!

ClickUp again I'm going to come hard for you I'm sorry but if my client's and myself are paying a subscription for your product some of these smaller nuanced items should be priority in your roadmap. Really they should have been built-in from the start of the table view.
Why would I want parent or header tasks free floating while my core tasks are separated from the parent task in list view? This view in incredible and it's ruined because you can't effectively use viewable nested tasks.
I understand ClickUp is trying to go hard at the AI game right now as seen in your roadmap statuses but you can't ignore the finer details of your platform in the process. Like real dates showing that JUST recently came under review after years. Or a view that is ineffective because the backend is incorrect.
If this is how you plan to continue to develop CU then it won't be worth the premium you charge your base because you're focused on the wrong things, struggle to listen to your base, and slow to implement. Some of us may use it for personal use only, but as someone who tries to move clients to ClickUp when they've outgrown their current PM tool some of these items are deal breakers.
For example there are planned features that have less than 100 votes, some lower than 5! I understand some are bug fixes and necessary - some absolutely aren't - like the Scroll Bar Design that got 45 votes but is planned and is purely aesthetic.

Guys, is it gooing to happen? The current table makes absolutely no sense, if the list has subtasks. And the table view is literally awesome

As of May 2025, we still can't see the parent name of a subtask in the Table view! 😐
