Show Fields labels in Board view
Michael Van Doorn
With the recent Board view redesign, labels for Fields are no longer shown on cards. These labels provided value by allowing a user to quickly connect a value with a field

I agree. This would be a great nice to have. We do have a lot of custom fields in a task and it's very confusing if not be able to see directly what that the value of the custom field represent

Please fix this. Seeing a bunch of people, dates, department names, etc. is completely unhelpful when you can't tell at a glance what they represent (the submission date? start date? submitter? assignee of which role? stage for what?).
This just kneecaps the Board View's usability. Honestly it's pretty frustrating to have the appropriate view decided not by whether it fits the use-case, but based on which features consistently exist and how easily you can actually make sense of a task without extra steps or caviats.

Please give the option to show CF labels in board view! When you have multiple fields of the same type the board view becomes practically useless with all the hovering you have to do.

Bring this back!!

if you have multiple fields of the same type it's very confusing. even if you dont- need to be able to see the custom field name not just the value. this should be fixed ASAP!!!

This would really be nice to have.

Stop trying to abstract things. ClickUp doesn't have a distinct enough design language to support using icons in lieu of text. Linear can do this precisely because they do not support custom fields—which is where this functionality breaks down (or when using multiple date fields).
You're also wasting space by having some field rows take up the entire width (e.g., why is the priority flag field 100% width of the card)?
I know a lot of designers think users want less cluster but in a PM tool, information density is critical.

Stop complicating things and just admit that this was a mistake. Fix it right away.

If you give the option to display, an important, field on the card, it is rather bizarre to remove the label of the field. At the very least, give the choice to hide or display the label.
