This is already in the Timeline view, but the Gantt view should definitely be improved for an easier readability. The weekends should be shaded. And also the dates should be highlighted once hovering the task. This must be something simple to add and will make it way better.

Yes please. And if you choose 'Hide and Skip Weekend' there should still be a darker line on the Gantt chart between Friday and Monday (or whenever your weekend is).

This feature will make it much easier to orientate yourself when scheduling tasks and to easily see how many weeks a task is scheduled to take. With the current format you can get a little lost because all the lines look the same.
