Allow users to set out-of-office days so that when someone tries to assign a task on that date, it will remind them that the person is unavailable and prevent the assignment.

Bugra Oktay is there a feedback form for this feature or should we give them right here?
Nik Orvis
I am sure this has been covered, but if applying leave/vacation days to a user, then no other work should be able to be applied to that day and hours should be re adjusted to the next available day, similar to the way weekends or public holidays work. Sometimes a user might a leave day in the middle of the week, with a task that runs from the start of the week to the end of the week, but it doesnt adjust the workfload to account for the leave day. Seems like hopefully a simple fix

Hi Nik Orvis: Time off in ClickUp updates the user's capacity and creates awareness around their unavailability to other users but it doesn't prevent or adjust scheduling. This could certainly be considered as a configuration option in future versions.

One feature we would need before we could fully switch to this is a way to track how many days off someone has logged in a given time period. Not MVP, but if you can add it to your backlog that would be helpful.
B
Bugra Oktay
Jenni Skarsten: It is added to the backlog. Thank you for the suggestion.

Make the vacation days work! Anyone adding vacation days should not be available under capacity & time trackers!

Bugra Oktay
Hi Kjirstin Campos - when a user sets time off, their capacity is set to 0h for that day and that's indicated in the workload view and timesheets but they aren't prevented from tracking time or getting tasks assigned to them on those dates.

The only way I have found to block days is in the general work calendar, but managing staff holidays or sick leave individually there is no way to do them, and of course it is not reflected in the workload. It's hard to manage times without this tool. Do we know when they will have a version?

Hi Gabriel Alvarez - this feature is in beta and will be released to public next month. You'll be able to set time off from the user profile or the teams hub.
Arne Spremberg
I am trying this over and over again, but I cannot seem to add time off? The button is there, I can set the time, but it's just not saved? Where can I see an overview of this? Is there a documentation article?
Mara
Arne Spremberg Same here - I can add a vacation but there is nothing that shows anywhere
Arne Spremberg
Mara I discussed this with the support team, apparently that's a bug they're currently working on. Their internal bug ID is CLK-894753 - let's see 🙄
B
Bugra Oktay
Arne Spremberg: this will be resolved very soon.

Bugra Oktay Do we know anything about this error? CLK-894753

It is still not working.
B
Bugra Oktay
Gabriel Alvarez: Yes, the feature was accidentally enabled for some workspaces that have not signed up for beta. That's about fixing that. It should be resolved now.
B
Bugra Oktay
Ting Tiew Hoe: have you signed up for beta?

One important feature is missing: it’s not possible to book half-day vacations.
Hourly bookings would be ideal, but allowing half days would already be crucial.
B
Bugra Oktay
Simon Ihlenfeldt: Yes, that is a limitation of this first version. We'll iterate on this.
Erwin UNU
We don't like how it was implemented. 1) Admins cannot set time off for the users, so anyone can add time off instead of having it centralized/organized by project managers. 2) It's hard to see the availability of all the resources. 3) It's difficult to coordinate work across people working in different countries and national holidays.
B
Bugra Oktay
Erwin UNU: Admins and managers of users can set time off for those users. Teams hub allows all members of a team to see everyone's time-off in one place.
Lori Wildman
Bugra Oktay where is Teams hub? I cannot even find where to add anyone's (including mine) vacation time at this point, even though I figued it out a few months ago when it first rolled out.
B
Bugra Oktay
Lori Wildman: That on its own is good feedback. You can set your time-off in your profile > calendar tab.
Teams hub can be accessed from your navigation bar. If it's not pinned like in the picture below, you can find it in "More".
