Set List status
planned
Rick Ryan Pascua
Set status to a List. Be able to sort in List View based on List status. I am using list for projects. There are times that the project is being put on hold. I would like to be able to know the status of each projects by having List status.

Yes this! A List really needs to be like a Task that also has Views.

Please, the ability to see list status in the folder/list panel on the left. Even better would be that plus a progress field. So you could look to the left, see/change list status, see your progress field and maybe even see a priority flag. Also the ability to show/hide these (individually). So you could see at a glance how your list is doing, then hide the panel again. I work mostly in calendar view and the ability to keep an eye on the progress/status of lists would be a very helpful addition.
The ability to mark a list as complete is essential.

Hi @Waleed Elaghil do you guys have any update here? This is one piece in the numerous items listed here:
Which would really help with making Lists viable for true
Project Management. Right now lists are missing most of the basic features of a “Project “ that other tools do much better than you guys - Asana, Wrike, Teamwork, even
Hive. I have been hopeful for some improvement in Goals as I thought they could meet this need, but the remain too raw: no visibility in search, can’t @mention them, etc. essentially Goals are missing all the stuff that I mentioned Lists need in the link above. Would be grateful for any update on Goals v2 as well.
As always thanks for all your transparency & communication here in the Forum !

Would be great new feature. Most of the time I put my projects at the list level, containing features/use cases underneath. This new feature would enable us to see the status of all projects without having to open each one and check the statuses of the task one level below. Great for high level reporting with a lot of projects. Rules could then also be used to set/update the list status based on task statuses (e.g. if one task of the list is "in progress", the, the list status updates to "in progress").

Yes! The List "object" should support most of the features of a Task. For instance (since Portfolios is wanting), I would create a View of filtered List objects (not the tasks associated). I would like this List summary view to convey each List's Status, RIsk, Due Date, Owner, Recent Comments (from the List object), Custom Fields, etc. Also adding in some calculated stuff based on associated tasks (like Portfolios do). This is a great way for a PM/Manager to communicate up high level project information.

Really support this. Getting some capability for Lists to have most of what Tasks already do would be great. Or, increased scope of Tasks to handle what you might use Lists for - Projects, Clients, Business Functions like “Sales,” “Marketing,” etc.
Really hoping to see this come together with stuff like Relations, Nested Subtasks, Goals v2, and potentially Subfolders, a bunch of stuff that the ClickUp team is clearly prioritizing and I’m very glad about that!!
