It would be great if ClickUp could send Slack DMs to different users, with the recipient dynamically determined by a custom field.

The "Send direct message" Slack action supports dynamic fields in the message body, but the recipient has to be a hardcoded Slack user. So if the right person changes per task, you're stuck. That's a real gap.
Until it gets native support, a Super Agent can bridge it: trigger one via automation, have it read your custom field, and send the DM to whoever's in that field. More setup than you should need, but it works today.
The right fix is extending dynamic variable support to the recipient picker. It logically follows from what the message body already does.
