Reschedule Dependencies when moving the task to an earlier date.

Comment from support: When I change the date of a task to a later date, the dependencies are moved back to a later date too, but when I move the date of the task to an earlier date, the dependencies don't change?

When changing the due date on a task, add the option to remap the due dates on any dependent tasks. I want to avoid having to manually change the due dates for tasks that are waiting on another one if I've just changed the date of the task that's blocking.

We are new with ClickUp enterprise and we can’t believe that a basic request like this is open for over 4 years now.🤷🏻♂️

Any update on this? Without being able to move due dates earlier & have dependencies automatically update, this feature becomes a bit useless. One mistake and your entire schedule is unusable. There also needs to be flexibility in due dates moving later OR earlier.

Would like a Pop-Up or similar when changing dates on a task with a dependency with an option to adjust dependent tasks or not.

I have just started using dependencies and this seems like a basic part of the feature that is not working. However given the lack of movement on this over the past 5 years now I'm assuming for some reason the dev team won't be doing it. Very disappointing

I just learned, from Layla's "Process Driven" youtube channel, that dependencies WILL reschedule to an earlier time/date IFF you do it in the Gantt view (not in List or another view). Also, it appears that the granularity for this is hourly, so a task that's scheduled to the half hour or 15 minutes will be extended.

Been using templates with dependencies in other project management tools. Our company just got ClickUp over the past year and started using the dependencies just this month as a project I was working on necessitated them. Figuring out how the dependencies worked was one issue. It should be a lot easier to do this. However, even more questionable, I am VERY surprised that the dependencies do not change backwards in time and only forward. Before I realized ClickUp couldn't do it, I thought I was doing something wrong...when it was the platform the entire time. Lets do this ClickUp, this is really elementary low hanging fruit as a feature for project management functionality and a major gap in comparison to your competition!

Agreed on this one. Some tasks finish earlier than expected & the due date is made to be earlier because of this. If there are several tasks that are dependent on one another and one phase needs to be due earlier, the ability to have all of those tasks move backwards by the same amount would be ideal.

Can we get an ETA on this? It's been open 4 years... Sydney Eric Wightman Zeb
