Require Confirmation for Deleting a Task
Marissa Black-Smith
Some platforms require confirmation when deleting a task, such as typing the word "DELETE" in to a pop-up. As you can accidentally delete tasks with only a single click of the button, a safeguard seems wise.

Now that this is live how do I turn it OFF????? There is no way I can be efficient while cleaning up my account by having to type the name of each folder as I go.

It is too easy to delete critical documents in ClickUp - it's happened in our Workspace before... by an Admin. At the very least there should be a dialog asking "Are you sure?" with yes/no options, but yes requiring an additional step (such as typing in DELETE) would be even better.

I suggest that it would be possible to select this option for a certain level of users who could then select specific areas lists or tasks individually. This feature would not only secure not deleting actual tasks, but also tasks that are type-defined eg. Companies or Contacts or any other "single source of truth" task types or permanent task types if you will.

Notifications/Confirmation for delete on everything would be a huge help, lists, tasks, documents etc

The same is with a View / List etc, when you click delete by mistake, it is deleted without notice.

We have a ton of users in our lists and when things are deleted, there's no obvious way of knowing. A confirmation like this would prevent a lot of errors. Would also be nice to have confirmation for moving tasks because things get turned into subtasks by accident a lot too, due to drag and drop functionality.

I’d recommend the possibility of adding notifications for deletion. There are a fair amount that I delete because they’re not needed any longer, but confirmation would be tedious. However, as Operations Manager, I want to be sure that a team member isn’t deleting important tasks (purposefully or accidentally).

I definitely wouldn't want that much friction when deleting a task, particularly given that deleted tasks can easily be retrieved from the trash for 30 days.

agreed it is necessary
