This would provide exponentially better performance than the current web-based architecture. This would allow offline work. There are a number of excellent offline to online syncing database plaforms/frameworks which could be utilized to make this happen. Rapid development of new features via the HTML5 web UI would have to be back-burned in exchange for a true, solid native OS desktop app on Mac and Windows. Doing this would solve a lot of the current problems with CU and put it on a course to uniquely become a true leader in task/project management. Until such time, while I love CU and appreciate the right move toward native OS on mobile, I'll be on the lookout for competing solutions which provide true native desktop support for all the reasons mentioned and more.
