Private tasks inside lists

It would be nice to be able to set a task as private for the assignees/watchers of it, so that in a list of a project the task would only be able for them.

This is already possible by setting the permission on the task to private and then inviting the people directly :)

Ivan Villa - this doesn't work for subtasks

john mecham
there needs to be a simple global setting where people can only see their tasks and subtasks and lists, but no other tasks or subtasks assigned to anybody else.

These four ideas are asking for a global way to do this. Make it so guests and members can only see what is assigned to them.
Who wants their clients to see all the internal working and communications of employees? This non-privacy is being forced by ClickUp. Add a client to a task, and they can see all subtasks inside that task. See all the internal workings and communication.
Does even 10% of ClickUp's user base really want this? It's like forcing people to see other people's email inbox as the default. How is it different?
Kind of related:
I'm sure there are other ideas requesting the same thing.
Plain and simple... we all need certain people to see Me mode and only me mode... they don't need to do anything but get the work done that was assigned to them. This will dramatically help with adoption. We all know those people that get confused when a website has two buttons on it instead of just one. A me-mode that is so stripped down and simple... a checklist is so incredibly vital for not spending hours upon hours trying to get somebody to use clickup!!!!!!!!!!!
And as for client's they don't need more information than necessary about how you run your business. They just need to see the high level tasks, and that progress is happening.

Fits perfect with the global road map

Ivan Villa Want to make this Epic --- have a permissions window for each user, and included in that window, you select which members'/guests' tasks they can see. And do this for each guest/member on a project or operation.
So A client CEO, can see his account manager's tasks, and the project team's tasks both within his organization and the service delivery company's organization at a high level. Then that changes for each user based on their purview, and what they should be allowed to see. The UX would be very easy to design. Making the UX operate as designed...is the hard part.

Ivan Villa I can't even give somebody task access without them access to the private list.
having access to the list is irrelevant to getting the task done. Why create irrelevant requirements like this?

Nice idea - with an eye symbol or similar next to the list of assignees and watchers to enable / disable privacy. That way only the assigned people can see the tasks and it's not over-complicated!
On the other hand that could mean that the list of watchers should be places beneath or into the same widget as the assignees.
And the same should visibility option should be offered for comments - but there's already a request existing for.
Of course private tasks should not appear at all for others.
