On August 24, 2025, it will be exactly 5 years since this was reported. It has 2,400 comments and is still not even in development. Instead of yet another non-essential AI add-on, please implement this fundamental functionality that users have been requesting for half a decade.
This feature request has become the most upvoted item on your platform, clearly demonstrating what your users actually need. The lack of private comments is forcing teams to use workarounds, duplicate work in external tools, and abandon ClickUp entirely. Every agency and team working with clients faces this exact problem daily.
Five years of "it's on our roadmap" responses while prioritizing flashy new features over core functionality is unacceptable.

One use case for this is for me to make private notes for myself

Even if we were able to make a comment not visible to guest logins, and only to members, it would be useful. We have discussions internally that are "sausage making" that the client does not necessarily need to see.

George Heimel yes, this is exactly what we need too. We are currently using a workaround with private chat channels but it's not ideal
