We know how much you guys want private comments added, especially to tasks, but we want to be transparent that we're not actively working on this feature.
We hope to begin work on it next year, so stay tuned!

Comments is the space where all the customer activities can be seen in one go and in an arranged way, and some commercial information we don't want to share with our technicians / Engineers. This feature is perfect for many users. Kindly do the needful.

Is there an update on this? This is a daily issue for us, and we end up duplicating a ton of tasks and wasting time to keep comments internal

A few years of waiting and asking. That's enough. We are in the process of looking for an alternative tool. You don't want our money, it's hard.

At this rate, it'll be faster to build our own CRM than to wait for you to add private comments.

Really need this. Major downside to Clickup for collaborating with clients and guests (having to do related tickets or chat comments just isn't practical). Hopefully will get prioritised asap this year, over some of the less useful and buggy AI features being released. Thanks guys.

Many of our teams receive requests to work an issue and the submitting team member is added as a watcher/follower. The team working the issue often leaves comments as they are working the task, but many of these messages are just internal messages that do not need to sent as notifications to the watchers/followers. It would be great if you could select/deselect which watchers would get a specific message.

We would like to use an HR channel to communicate with our front line workers. However in some instances we would like to restrict/control who can see the chat with that guest (and obviously we don't want the guest seeing all channel chats). Alternatively a direct (private) chat with a clickup team would be good (ie the team is flexible so new HR members could see previous history - unless the chat is locked/secured)

Do you have any updates for us?
It is so important to have the possibility to write private comments.
It's a real showstopper and if I see all this comments not just for us.
And I mean, first comment is nearly 6 years old ;)

To unlock and implement a customer support use case, private comments are absolutely essential. Support teams constantly need to leave internal notes. Things like investigation details, internal escalations, or context from other departments that simply should not be visible to customers or external collaborators.
Being able to add internal-only comments directly on the task keeps everything in one place.
