Our organization has over 400 tasks in our customer implementation template. We are in continuous need of making updates to task descriptions when we have software changes or process changes that require an edit to the task instructions.
Having to launch a template, make changes to the desired tasks, then re-save as a template leaves our users at risk of overwriting newer changes with older configurations if they weren't immediately able to get to the changes they needed to make before someone else updated the template with a different change.
For this reason, we are forced to maintain a folder with the launched template lists, tasks, etc. and immediately before launching a new project, we update the template from that folder. The problem this causes is, we appear to have many overdue tasks, unassigned tasks, etc. etc. that we must now filter out of all of our list views so that they don't show up in personal lists and reporting.

Its a bit of a black hole. It would be nice to be able to open them and preview them . I think the whole template center needs an overhaul

In the template center, it would be useful to be able to see what elements a template consists of, without having to apply it first. For example, if I have a folder template, with task lists, I can see what lists it has before applying it. The same thing if I have a task template, being able to see subtasks, times, states, checklist, etc., without having to use it first.

I don't understand how this isn't a four digit request. I can only assume it's because people try to use templates, give up, and forget about them.
how far into the "FUTURE" are we talking Lily Chan?

Could be good if we can edit the templates too.

This would be very beneficial to preview the template first. I'd also like the ability to exclude certain custom data and subtasks before applying.

Hi Lily Chan!
When I started using ClickUp I was excited to get to know the tool and started to try the existing templates... without realizing that every templates I was checking out (and applying) were counting down all the features' uses that were limited on my plan!
I wish I could have seen it before, and eventually remove these options before applying the template.

I would want to be able to preview all parts of the task and any related checklists/subtasks in order to ensure WYSIWYG when the task template is applied. Being able to exclude or include specific custom fields would also be ideal.

We need this. It would also be ideal if we could choose whether to create or exclude new custom fields when applying a template. We're currently cleaning up a mess of custom fields created by users adding templates and many were never even used.
