It would be great to have the ability to pin important links and locations within group chats and DMs — similar to how you can pin messages, but specifically for URLs and shared locations.
Problem:
In active group chats and DMs, important links (documents, dashboards, external resources) get buried quickly as the conversation moves on. Team members end up scrolling through long message histories or asking “can someone re-share that link?” — which wastes time and breaks flow.
Proposed solution:
  • Let users pin specific links or locations to a dedicated “Pinned” panel accessible from the chat header.
  • Pinned items should display the link title, URL, and who pinned it.
  • Any member of the chat should be able to add or remove pins (with optional permission controls for admins).
  • Pinned links should persist until manually unpinned — not get lost in message history.
Use cases:
  • A project channel pins the spec doc, Figma file, and staging URL so new joiners can find them instantly.
  • A DM between two collaborators pins a shared Google Doc they keep referencing.
  • A team chat pins a recurring meeting link or office location for quick access.
This would reduce repeated questions, keep key resources one click away, and make chats far more functional as lightweight workspaces.
