Personal List - Be Able to Turn Off
under review

In quick task creation I keep creating tasks in personal list by mistake and then I forget about them because I do not use the personal list. It would be great if I could turn off the personal list as I do not use it.

Hey, everyone!
We're currently scoping the ability to turn off Personal List across your Workspace via a ClickApp.
Thanks for providing your feedback & votes!

Yes same. I dont use it. I have my own personal space which is better. Super annoying that every time I make a new task the location defaults to the Personal List.

Michael Van Doorn in January 2024 you said this topic was under review. After all this time, is there anything new to share with us? Have you had the opportunity to read all the comments on this topic that various users have left here? Thanks!

This has wasted so much of my time. Not only does the "+" add task default to Personal List (and you can't change that) so items can inadvertently get lost in there, but there is no quick way to go to the Personal List. We need to have the option to turn this off and change the default location when quickly adding a task. Ugh.
NOTE: I just noticed ClickUp said they were looking into this in JANUARY of 2024, over a year and a half ago. Maybe they accidentally put that task in their Personal List and lost it!

Personal list seems like a useful feature for some, but please let us turn it off. I often forget to set which list to create a new task in, so it ends up in Personal List where it's easily forgotten since I don't use it.

In my view, Personal List either needs to be able to be seen everywhere else and be acted upon like everything, or we need to be able to turn it off.
Right now, you cannot see Personal items in Everything view, in New Calendar, and a bunch of other places, which means items in it get lost and forgotten.
I would rather be able to turn it off than it not work like everything else in ClickUp.

Yes, please! Very frustrating. Why create a list that doesn't function like the others and can be very hard to find and deal with.

I agree that the best option is to assign the "Personal List" feature to a ClickApp. In my case, I don't need to use it and so I don't want to see it anywhere, but of course this can be useful to other users. Making this a ClickApp will make everybody happy.

Instead of turning it off, just because the tasks "dissappear" into it, personal tasks should be included in the Everything section, as suggested in the "Include Personal List in Everything" feature request. This would solve the problem in a better way. The personal tasks wouldn't dissappear any more and it would be easy to add&handle those.

SOLVED - I just figured a way around this un-necessary "Personal list". I made an automation that moves every new task in the "Personal list" to one of my monitored lists. Voila - no more mucking around with lost tasks in personal list.

Sharad Mittal Love this! Thank you! Why didn't I think of that?! Hahah.

@Michael Van Doorn Is there an update for this feature request as it has been under review for about 11 months?
Paul Adams
Jan Karres Make that 18 months now. Maybe it got lost in ClickUps "Personal List"
