Paste as plain text

Add the ability to paste as plain text (ideally across the board, descriptions, comments, etc..)
At the moment if I want to paste text that has formatting in to the comments on a task I have to open notepad, paste in there, then copy again and then paste it in the comment (the paste + copy into Notepad process clears the formatting from the text being copied)

YES. I very often copy text from Thunderbird mails. Unfortunately, Clickup has been inserting nonsensical spaces/tabs into the text for some time now. When I paste the same text into the Windows Editor, everything is perfect. Plain text with breaks as expected. Pasting via CTRL+SHIFT+V does not work in Clickup either.
It is always very time-consuming to remove the spaces manually.

To paste as plain text on various operating systems, you can use the following methods:
Windows:
Instead of using the regular paste (Ctrl+V), use Ctrl+Shift+V to paste as plain text in most Windows applications. This shortcut will remove any formatting from the copied text and paste it as plain text.
macOS:
Instead of using the regular paste (Command+V), use Command+Shift+V to paste as plain text in most macOS applications. This shortcut will remove any formatting from the copied text and paste it as plain text.

Instead of using the regular paste option, tap and hold in the text field where you want to paste the text. When the paste menu appears, select the "Paste as Plain Text" option. This will remove any formatting from the copied text and paste it as plain text.
Android:
Instead of using the regular paste option, tap and hold in the text field where you want to paste the text. When the paste menu appears, look for an option like "Paste as Plain Text" or "Paste Special" and select it. This will remove any formatting from the copied text and paste it as plain text. The availability of this option may depend on the specific app or keyboard you are using.

on windows you can do CTRL+SHIFT+V and it pastes as plain text. Not a mac user so not sure their keyboard shortcut

Hi Justin Hunter, yes, a much better explanation of what I was looking for. On the right click, like you have in MS Word/Excel, etc.., maybe not as sophisticated, just have a "paste as plain text" option. What I have also just realised is this is specific to the ClickUp desktop app, if I am in Chrome I already have this option.
Thank you for the insight with the "clear formatting" option. It helps in some cases, however, there are still times when it doesnt work. For example if copying content from an email that is in a table with the via Notepad method (or via the plain text method in Chrome) it still works, in the desktop app a with the clear formatting it wont clear the table and keep the text.

Hey Andrew McAllister! Great idea! Would you expect this to be a right-click -> paste as type functionality? Or is there another what you'd want it to work if we built this?
Also, not sure this actually reduces any steps for you, but you can paste with formatting, then highlight all the text in the Doc or task or comment and use the toolbar's clear formatting option.
