This feature is very badly needed for our team. There is no control otherwise and we are regularly checking our Trash to see if any tasks have been deleted by accident or intentionally

AMEN! I am surprised that this is not a setting yet. When I delegate tasks I may not know every step that is needed in order to complete the task(s). Especially in an instance where one of our team members is way more familiar with a project that I have assigned a different team member to help that person, it would be extremely beneficial for them to create additional tasks or subtasks to help break the task into more manageable tasks. I want them to be able to create but not able to delete any tasks.

Any update on this?

It is just silly that we have to request such a feature. I want a list where my customers can add tickets. Why would I want them to be able to delete that list?

Along the same lines, I would like to have the ability of team members to create tasks BUT NOT be able to delete the list please.

You can sort of do this now by enabling the security/permission option to only allow users to delete items they created.
