Optimize Voice Clips: Use MP3/AAC
Anton Proskurin
Currently, ClickUp saves voice clips in uncompressed PCM (.wav) format. This results in unnecessarily large file sizes.
The Problem: On unstable or slow internet connections (e.g., mobile data or public Wi-Fi), large uncompressed files cause significant UX friction:
- Clips often fail to send or time out.
- Voice messages take a very long time to download/upload.
The Solution: Please implement audio compression (such as MP3, AAC, or WebM/Opus) for voice clips. Reducing the file size would significantly improve reliability and speed for users with non-ideal network conditions.
