## Remove from List is now available in Automations!
You can now automatically remove tasks from a selected additional List, without deleting the task or changing its home List.
Use it to clear completed work from approval queues or remove tasks from a team's backlog when an assignment changes. Your task stays in its home List and any other Lists it belongs to.
To get started, open Automations, choose your trigger, add the
Remove from List
action, and select the additional List.Thank you for all the votes and detailed examples over the years. We know manually cleaning up Lists has been frustrating, and we're excited to get this into your workflows! 🙏

Add a "Remove from list" action to ClickUp Automations. Currently the "Add or move" section only offers "Add to current sprint", "Add to list" and "Move to list". There is no way to automatically remove a task from a list, even though tasks can be removed from additional lists manually.

Include the option to remove the task/subtask from a given list by automation. Currently it is only possible to move, but this causes the task to be removed from all the lists it is in. In some cases the ideal is to be able to remove from a specific list.

When we have tasks in multiple lists, there are times when it would improve organization if, upon being added to a specific list, the task could be removed from another (without moving it from its original location). I’d like to request an automation feature that allows the following: when a trigger is activated, remove the task from a list.

This feature is maybe one of the most awaited ones from our side.
I have had several use cases where this was a must-do to be able to setup an easy access management workflow, for non-technical users.
Tag added -> add to list XYZ
Tag removed -> Remove from list XYZ
This feels like the most basic automation but still surprised that it isn't implemented, and not on roadmap yet. It has been there since 2023...

absurdly, i can add a Task or Subtask to a List when i add an assignee to a Task or Subtask with 'automations', but i cannot remove a Task or Subtask from a List when i remove an assignee from a Task or Subtask. This is ridiculous, please get on this one.

I would like to request a new automation feature in ClickUp that allows tasks to be automatically removed from a list when a specific condition is met. For example, when a particular assignee is removed from a task, the task should be automatically removed from the current list (not just moved to another list).
Use Case:
This would be helpful for workflows where task ownership determines its relevance to a list. Automating this process would save time and reduce manual work, ensuring lists stay up-to-date based on dynamic team assignments.
Desired Functionality:
Trigger: When a specific assignee is removed from a task (or other customizable conditions).
Action: Remove the task from the current list (not just move to another list or archive).
