Nested levels of Subfolders
Hemant Kumar
Today, ClickUp supports one level of subfolders inside a Folder. Teams with deep organizational structures (agencies managing client → project → workstream, enterprises mirroring department → division → team, construction companies tracking program → site → phase) are forced to either flatten their hierarchy into naming conventions or spin up extra Spaces as a workaround.
We'd like the ability to nest subfolders at least 2–5 levels deep so workspaces can mirror real-world org structures without sacrificing a clean, navigable sidebar.

I support the mainstream here, 2-5 level should be more than enough. If anything deeper is required, re-thinking of your used structure is advisable.

if we now have subfolders as level ZERO, then I think 3 additional would be enough giving us a total of 5
everything beyond that becomes insane anyhow (sorry to all you crazy nesters out there, build a healthy structure ;)

The more folders the better but at least 5 or 6.
Then I can have the same hierarchy that I have in my One Drive and Email Folders and everything is streamlined.

Hey everyone 👋
Deeper subfolder nesting is one of the top requests and we've started scoping it out. Today you get one level of subfolders (depth 0). We want to know:
how much deeper do you need?
Quick primer on how we count depth:
- Space > Folder > Subfolder= Depth 0 (what you have today)
- Space > Folder > Subfolder > Nested= Depth 1
- Space > Folder > Subfolder > Nested > Deeper= Depth 2
- ...up to Depth 6

You need at least 5 levels deep. 10 is better.
(You don't want to revise your workflow after setting up clickup with a 5 level deep hierarchy and then hitting a wall because level 6 is not available...)

Yes, I believe that 2 to 5 levels of subfolders would be ideal.

Yes, this would be extremely helpful.
Nathan Norman
Yes please! subfolders inside of subfolders inside of subfolders.

Maybe if we get 12 thousand people upvote this it will be released by 2034

Anthony Tokosky I hope not :( the first subfolder I think is the hardest due to incompatible infrustructure. Now they already have one subfolder, there should be second soon..
