Hi Zeb, it seems it isn’t possible on the ‘new’ app! (Android phone and iOS iPad)
It was possible on the ‘old’ iOS though (I still use it because of that -and its ability to duplicate task)

I've also run into this limitation. It'd nice to have negative numbers which would affect the sum in Custom Fields Reports. I need that for custom field of type Number.
