More improvements to tables in docs - BIG TIME

It looks like tables in docs have been slightly improved - https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/improve-tables-in-docs-big-time.
However, still big improvements are needed:
* Background color
* Header formatting
* More column width control
* Cell merging
* Center align tables
* They still look ugly
* ... I could go on and on
At the very least implement something like Typora has - more control, more formatting options and rendering is quite good for markdown tables.

Agree on all fronts with many of the comments, and would like to add simple formulas. Even just ability to sum would be a game changer. We use tables so often for client agendas and reporting on budgets are a huge portion of that. Right now we have to manually calculate and hard-key the balance. Leaves so much room for error. Having one cell be formula driven with a simple sum would be great.

Adding my displeasure. I can't even copy a row from an existing table and paste it into a row on another or even the same table.
Before we even get into the extended functionality of sorting, how about elementary copy and paste!

We used to just copy a simple Word doc table, and paste into task description for 2-3 columns of translation text. Now we have numerous forced-formatting options, adding yet another step and none of them working correctly. :(

We are actively planning improvements to current table functionalities, as well as new features such as vertical alignment and multi-select for bulk formatting actions. We'll be sure to update the status of this request as we move forward!

Agree this really needs looking at ASAP as they are totally unusable inside documents.

Need:
a) format text in cells using the "turn into" function (duh)!
b) Add items like checklists (cut and pasting doesn't work properly... can't select a checkbox for example once pasted into a cell)
c) ability to cut and paste data across columns / rows
d) Select and edit an entire row (e.g. simply bolding the title row)
e) Align column widths across multiple tables. (even if it was a snap to grid type approach) - just need a quick way to ensure multiple tables are the same column widths.
f) Format "painter" (like "MS Word")
g) Get rid if bugs (e.g. columns suddenly getting hidden when deleting above the table)

Please add an option to Wrap/Unwrap the text inside a cell of the table in the Doc. For particular cell and for entire table.
