More improvements to tables in docs - BIG TIME
planned

It looks like tables in docs have been slightly improved - https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/improve-tables-in-docs-big-time.
However, still big improvements are needed:
* Background color
* Header formatting
* More column width control
* Cell merging
* Center align tables
* They still look ugly
* ... I could go on and on
At the very least implement something like Typora has - more control, more formatting options and rendering is quite good for markdown tables.

Hi everyone, I’m Bryan, the new Head of Docs.
We’ve rebuilt Tables from the ground up to be more reliable and unlock a ton of new possibilities. While these aren’t databases (and won’t be), our goal is to make them best-in-class for structuring content.
The new Tables include:
- Slash command support
- Rich media: GIFs, images, videos, and URL previews
- Quick-format menus for rows and columns
I’m looking for at least 10 passionate users to try out the beta and, a week later, join me for a quick 30-minute chat about your experience.
If you’re interested, just reply to this thread and I’ll get you set up.

Tables break when multiple people are editing in the doc. We no longer use Docs with tables for meetings or collaborative notes, we're back to Google Drive because it doesn't break.

I'm no longer able to Paste Preview Links into the tables. It simply either breaks the table or past the text URL of it instead.

Artem I too am having the same problem, if I copy anything into the table the table breaks, I have not had this problem before.

-An option to use custom fields in a cell would be great.
For instance, drop-downs, labels, tags.
-An option to tab to next cell highlighting text already in the cell

Bryan Lovgren would like to join testing. we're developing our digital handbook on clickup as our company wiki and we heavily rely on tables

Poor performance and memory-wise issues with longer tables.
I've tried some 200 rows (simple 3x200 tables) on a single doc - browser's memory increased to some ~4GB and the complete window became practically unusable (hanged for a few minutes upon each click operation).
This should not happen with such lean tables (unless something else is being falsely loaded along with the simple text data).
Worked around this by splitting my tables into separate docs.

Need to be able to copy/paste multiple cells. I should be able to highlight 5 cells in a table, copy them, and paste the 5 cells into another area within a table...

Please let tables work like tables in Coda.io, with the ability to add fields.

Being able to copy and paste a table elsewhere would be useful, currently the fact you can't is extremely frustrating and time wasting

Can you add me to the beta list

Some columns won't let me make them thinner. I want to see entire table width on 1 screen. This problem prevents me from doing so.
