More control to remove ClickUp Features
Pol Cousineau
When I joined ClickUp a big appeal was that you could enable/disable features to avoid the project management tool being clogged up.
I WANT the advanced features but I want the ability not to enable them similar to "Multiple Assignee" "Tags", etc.
Allow us to disable Goals, Portfolio, and similar functions. This way advanced users can utilize them but basic users don't have to.

Was having problem with the merge task feature today. Someone wrongly merged a task into another and caused a lot of extra work and havoc. There's no undo for this, so it'd be good to be able to just disable it for most of the of the people, especially external guests.

Would be very helpful to be able to remove features and streamline a little bit.

Yup - was just coming to leave this same comment. We've been using ClickUp for several years and, coming from Jira, it was a breath of fresh air to have a straight-forward tool to use. I do love many of the upgrades, but we use this across a team of people who are all over the place on the 'technical proficiency' spectrum.
In order to have ClickUp be widely adopted by our 35 person MarComm team, I really need to be able to simplify it and create some standard views and use cases.
Just a note: We had this same issue with Salesforce. And we overcame it the same way; created a stripped-down version that is more easily adopted and then add features back in slowly. This is now our default method of 'cultural adoption' of new software.

Zeb: Also restricting the use of Page View types (Conversation, Docs, Forms, Embed) by Space. When we would prefer team members to be using other established platforms for these, ie Slack, Confluence etc.

Pol Cousineau: agreed here Pol. I was going to say a similar thing and found your post.
I would have to give which exact features more thought, but I do think generally, some users would appreciate a simplified version. Especially newbies. I personally like exploring the advanced features. It’s just the first team member I invited to ClickUp found it too complex. Perhaps as admin, I could have set the kind of invite given (I.e, simple version) and the person could enable more features as they become more familiar with the app and advance in usage.
I like the concept of enabling/disabling ClickApps....just think it should be applied to other features as well.

Hey Pol! In addition to Goals and Portfolios, what else would you like to see as optional?
Pol Cousineau
Hi Zeb, Sub-Tasks is something that I would like as optional. We don't need it in all spaces and it is confusing for some users, especially because the time doesn't get pushed to the primary task and some people miss comments in there.

Zeb: There could be many features that we may not use depending on our needs. Like if a task is opened to be created, there is so much going on and everytime, since it occupies the entire screen, its hard to reach out to the top right corner of the screen to close. I am an individual and dont really need assignee or may never need to see activity on the right side. All I need is a quickway to set time and date.
So how about creating a customize your clickup, to be able to disable almost any feature we need? While the default features are always available.
