List view - group Future tasks by month / year
Drag Ivko
When grouped by Due Date in list view, please provide additional level of grouping for Future dates by month and then by years.
Currently level of grouping shows up:
- Today
- Tomorrow
- Saturday
- Sunday
- Monday
- Future
Would like to see this changed to indicate:
- Today
- Tomorrow
- Saturday
- Sunday
- Monday
- January
- February
- March
- April
- May
- June
- July
- August
- September
- October
- November
_ December
- 2021
- 2022
- 2023
- etc

Being able to have the grouping by week/month/quarter would be great. Otherwise everything that you have planned outside the next week cannot be easily separated.

Would love to have the option to group by 'Today', 'This week', 'This month', 'Q1', 'Q2', 'Q3', 'Q4', 'Annual'

My team would be very grateful for this feature. The lack of this view option makes looking at tasks feel very clunky.

Any progress or updates on this one? Is it in 3.0?

This would also be something helpful in table view!

This is also a feature my team would like to see implemented. Grouping by Week / Month would be much more helpful for reviewing planned promotional activity.

Would be a great! So I can build a sales forecast.

strongly suggest month and year wise, tasks created list, so that we can easily group and use it for further operations

I would like to see my list view grouped by Month. Not Today, Tomorrow & Future.
As a workaround, I've created a formula custom field that output the month number of due dates. But unfortunately, this did not work. ClickUp does not support grouping by a formula custom field. At least for now.
Waiting for this to be sorted out!

Modified the formula to output months name instead of numbers.
if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=1, "Jan", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=2, "Feb", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=3, "Mar", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=4, "Apr", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=5, "May", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=6, "Jun", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=7, "Jul", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=8, "Aug", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=9, "Sep", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=10, "Oct", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=11, "Nov", (if(MONTH(field("Due date"))=12, "Dec")))))))))))))))))))))))

Sultan Khogeer: I did the same and it was a bummer when i found out that couldn´t group by formula
Craig Haynes
Sultan Khogeer: SWITCH is handy for this, saves you all those nested ifs..
SWITCH(MONTH(field("Due date")),1,'January',2,'February',3,'March',4,'April',5,'May',6,'June',7,'July',8,'August',9,'September',10,'October',11,'November',12,'December','')
And it looks like grouping by custom field is in progress 🥳

Craig Haynes: Much simpler and nicer formula..
Thanks for sharing.
