The problem:
Personal Priorities (LineUp) works really well for individuals: I can add any number of tasks, drag them into order, and they renumber automatically, so it's always clear what comes first. But there's no equivalent for a list. When a whole team works from one list, we need one shared ranking that everyone can see.
Current workarounds and why they fall short:
  • Manual order in List view: you can drag tasks into order, but there are no visible rank numbers, the order only works without grouping, and it can be changed by accident from other views.
  • A Number custom field ("Rank"): it shows numbers, but doesn't renumber when tasks move, so every change means updating many tasks by hand.
  • The built-in Priority field: only four levels (Urgent/High/Normal/Low), so it can't express a strict order.
What I'd like:
  • A "List Priorities" feature (or a rank field type) for each list, working like Personal Priorities.
  • Add as many tasks as needed, drag and drop to reorder, and ranks renumber automatically (1, 2, 3…).
  • A visible rank column that can be shown and sorted in any view of the list.
  • A shared order that's the same for everyone on the list, ideally independent of grouping (e.g. still visible in a view grouped by status).
  • Optional: the rank is removed when a task is closed, and the rest move up.
Why it matters:
It would give teams one clear, shared answer to "what should we work on next?" without maintaining numbers by hand or relying on view settings that are easy to break.
Thank you!
