Is there a way to create a checklist from a template without having a duplicate?

When I create a checklist using a template, we end up with 2 templates. Is there a way to create only one checklist using a template rather than having the redundant extra empty one? Screenshot attached.

Lily Chan Hi Lily, that's exactly what I'm referring to. It's only a very small thing, but if that can be developed it'll remove those few steps in the workflow. :)
