I would love to be able to quickly insert polls/voting in docs to get the teams' opinions on ideas/events/etc.

Yes please not only in docs, but in all textareas like tasks and comments!
And different poll types, also for finding meeting dates!
You should have different options like allow multiselect (or not) or make votes private until it's closed.
