Interactive planner (good for visualizing roadmap alternatives)

Hi,
I have a set of tasks (measured in weeks) and I would like to visualize alternatives for ordering them along a calendar.
I would like to manually drag tasks along a vertical calendar timeline so that they would fit snugly. if I drag a task out, the ones below it would squeeze up.
I can drop the dragged task in between two existing ones, and all the lower tasks would move down to make room.
The task box size would occupy as many weeks as the task duration.
The start and end dates of the tasks would of course automatically be updated.
I can drag unscheduled tasks from a list in order to place them in the calendar. As I drag a task from the list, the image which I drag turns from a list view (standard task) to a calendar view (a box sized according to the task's duration), and this completes the drag and drop experience.
The above is MVP
Another important ability is to be able to change the starting date of first task and have the entire project move along.
You could think of enhancing this with additional calendar based planning capabilities. For example, if a task effort is stated in terms of person days instead of weeks, the tool would automatically adjust the actual start/end dates according to the number of work days in the calendar, spanning across weekends and vacations.
