Improve Time Reporting widget
planned
Julia Suárez
Right now we are able to group by Space / Assignee in the time reporting widget which is really useful, but when we expand the last level we see time entries, which is not really useful for us, it would be better if we could see all the tasks with the time estimates and time tracked because we need to see tasks that haven't started too.

We appreciate the abiity to see all of the time that each member of our team is tracking in the Time Reporting Widgets, but we also need to be able to see all of the time that is tracked to a certain task by all of members of the team that worked on that task. To put it another way, instead of sorting by the assignee, we need to be able to sort by task and view all of the time tracked to a set of tasks in a defined time period. This would allow us to give clients a more accurate report of the time spent on their projects by all the members of the team that worked on the project, rather than manually having to extract that from the report for each team member.

That makes sense! Adding task as the first level of grouping should help here. We have a few updates in the pipeline so will make note of this!

@Ivan Villa: Aggregated a number of time-tracking requests here https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/better-time-tracking-and-reporting as well. Would love to hear any updates!

It's critical for us to be able to pull the report that shows the date the time was entered. Also need to view the Task tags, as we assign those when we create the task and that's how we know the billing category of the time (don't want to double-enter the same info into a billing tag). In a dream world, we'd be able to mark the time entries as completed (entered or billed, I have no preference, but it would be amazing to be able to mark them off, espeically if we could mark them with multi-select tool).

I would like to see:-
- Filter by custom fields.
- 3rd and 4th level grouping, so I can see Space --> Folder --> List -- Task. heck, even 5th level for User. Right now, If you expand a time tracked List, it just shows you a notes field, rather than the Task name, unless you have Task as a grouping, which is odd to me.
- Filter by tasks worked on or estimated this week. Nothing to do with start dates and due dates, but items actually tracked or worked on this week.
- Expansion of Time Estimated vs Time Tracked, like in Time Estimated (legacy) widget. It's useful to see the progress bars.
- Totals, as with Time Estimated (legacy). So estimated and tracked times are totalled at the bottom.

Would also be great to group by custom fields in the time reporting widget!
Example - For each task, I put the client in a custom text field. Would be great if the first grouping could be to the client level, then the 2nd grouping to the task level (example screenshot).

@Ivan Villa @Zeb: Any updates on timing of this one? I feel like we're in a race against the clock with "Legacy" reporting being deprecated at some point and the "Time Reporting" and "Timesheet" widgets just aren't cutting it.

Hey @Kevin May! We're currently working and planning on many great refinements to the widgets but we don't have a timeline yet as we're completely focused on speed and performance at the moment.
Thank you for your patience!

I would like to be able to sort within time reporting (i.e. to be able to quickly see what Folders or Lists were worked on most).

I would like to categorize tasks with the same name as one project (keyword) and to have an option to break down the tasks inside the project for more details

In short, task name > time entries

@Nathan George: and please supply the date the time is registred/the task is worked on PER ENTRY
Nathan George
@Pim Holtz: If you want to reach a ClickUp employee look for a purple name or comment on the main task.

@Nathan George: Hello Nathan I dont want to reach a clickup employee, I want to comment on what you stated

One more thing. When you toggle open rows, then switch the filter, date range, etc., the toggles close, requiring several more clicks to re-open everything all over again.
Also, good if this request can be assigned to the Category for Time Tracking. I had to hunt/search for Time related requests as many are not categorized correctly (and thus lead to duplicates).

@Brendon McCarthy: can I add for daterange: TODAY?

It would be great if we can show on the time reporting widget more columns (default and custom columns) same as on the actual list and table view.
We need the time reporting for the internal last week summary and next week planning but also for weekly and monthly summaries for the client. So seeing for the last week (or month) who worked on what tasks, how many hours and what is the status of those tasks (finished or not) would satisfy all our time tracking needs :-)
Alternatively it would be great if I can create a custom column with a formula on my list or table view which can get me from the time tracked column the time tracked just for a certain period (like this or last week).

@001 Alex: yes, yes, yes! totally agree. columns and sorting would be gamechanging!
