HTML in ClickUp Email

So here is how I was able to start to resolve this.
Please Note we are a Gmail shop, and I am not sure if what I have discovered is an issue because of Gmail, or if it's ClickUp, or even IF what I am about to explain will work for anything else.
So like OP, I wanted to send a nice crafted HTML email to lets say our HR team when a form gets filled out.
I tested and when I sent the HTML email, weird things happened. It would seem to process the start of the html code, lets say a div or a table or a p but it wouldn't process the end command, it would print it literal as if it were text. And when I inspected it in chrome/edge, I noticed that everywhere I had put an Enter to make my HTML pretty and human readable, it closed the block. There appears to be an issue with processing the </ as a html end command, but that's not such a bad thing since the block start IS read we can just kind of negate this with Enter in stead of </. In places of lets say a table like I am doing, I am able to not even use the </ command and supply a new start of a block for <tr or whatever and it seems to process it in a manner that is similar to what I would expect.
My solution, write one ugly line of html code doing everything you want it to do. This will work for simple tables and formatting, but I'm not sure how far you can push it. Because in order to close your block, you need to enter to the next line if it's not something simple or that you want to compound together. You would need to reconstruct the start of your style div after each Enter. If that makes sense.
Here's a working example of what I was able to craft. It's still a work in progress as I wanted to share what I have found with everyone else, but it starts to accomplish what I am after. In the editor I replace the {{}} with whatever ClickUp custom field goes there. I will work on it more when I have time to make it "prettier". So for my Table, I would need to reapply my div structure above to lock in the size and style. But I am done, it's Friday and I'm going to go enjoy a beer :)

Also, the main problem I find is that emails sent through the Comments area, are not padded / have no margin. This looks unprofessional, especially given the signature is well padded. Such a huge upgrade, such a small fix. ;)

Use the same HTML Template Email used by Clickup (For notifications) in a first time would be better than a classive Email

There is a workaround, though a little bit hacky:
If you put your HTML in a multiline custom field and just use this as a placeholder in your mail, ClickUp will render it as HTML.
(Though the E-Mail itself will be displayed as code in ClickUp)

Robert Hellmundt hey mate
how do you use the CF as a placeholder in email?
Thanks in advance!
Robert Hellmundt
Mykyta It only works via an automation, as placeholders are not allowed in templates (sadly!!)
Mykyta
Robert Hellmundt oh yeah, I see it now in the email automation. Thank you sir!:)

Robert Hellmundt How exactly did you solve this? I've created a custom field (text, long text) and inserted the HTML code. Integrated as a CF in the email automation but unfortunately the email only shows HTML code.

Are there any plans to add this functionality? I mean it seems to work for Sigs. It seems the functionality is there.

Actually, there's already HTML feature in Signatures section of E-Mail Integration and it seems to be working well. Some similar functionality may be used for the Body of E-Mail templates

Would really love this implementation as well - having everything work though clickup is where I am trying to get my workflow and this would be one more step in the right direction.

Add the ability to paste HTML into an email and then send it with the HTML embedded into the email.

Hi, Would be great to have this. I can see a code function in the body of ClickApp where you can find HTML but is not working (when you set up an Email automation). Can't find anything how to solve it.

For everyone here waiting like I am: you can work around ClickUp not having HTML emails, by using Make (most comprehensive), Zapier, etc. to allow certain ClickUp actions to trigger transactional emails in software/SaaS like Send in Blue, and other external email clients and such.
However, being able to use ClickUp sooner, rather than later, would be amazing.
We've tried to at least utilize images, but the images always "break" in ClickUp for email templates we create. Even fixing that would be a great step-up for a better aesthetic!
