Hide Custom Fields when sharing publicly

It surprised me to find out that the option to "Hide for Guest" on the custom field settings for a list does not apply to the Public shared link. It would make sense to me that the same option could and should apply to a more public view than a Guest.
How about changing it to "Hide for Guest/Public"

Provide the option to hide any data from the public view, perhaps with the wall-o'-toggles config used to hide data when opening a task.

This is another extremely important and must have feature but yet not much ppl voted for it. So sad. Like me, if you are using this clickup as a maintenance or product support tracking platfrom, you got to have certain custom field visible to your customer. You got to have a way to let your customer to know and get latest update without having to notify them via email/phone all the time. The public view is so useful to make this happen, where customer can just access the page anytime and get updated. But not all information in the custom field is viewable by the customer, some are for internal used where it involve some sensitive information.
pls think from the maintenance and suport point of view and add this feature into clickup. i think this will definately takes 100 years to reach to the developer attention...
so sad...so sad..

Bryan Su Testing Account: I completely agree!
I hear that ClickUp is working on some updates to custom fields, so hopefully this is one of the things they implement in those updates! 🤞

Eric Wightman Would you consider adding this functionality in a similar way to how the custom field visibility works for guest users? Perhaps another toggle here which shows public link sharing visibility? That would work well.
Eric Wightman
Adam Jaffrey: good idea! As an alternative, what about just making a separate view that has only the custom fields you need to show visible, then public share that view?
Adam Jaffrey
Eric Wightman: That's not a bad workaround. However, I would like the ability for my clients to drill down into the "task view" where they can only see a single task at a time.

Eric Wightman: Hey Eric, I know the ClickUp team is working on some updates to custom fields. Is this something that's likely to be included in those updates?
Eric Wightman
Adam Jaffrey: Can you clarify for me what you're looking for? Not sure I'm following :)
Adam Jaffrey
Eric Wightman: I heard recently that ClickUp is making some changes to the custom fields manager. I'm just wondering if this ticket will be considered as part of that upgrade?
I.e. The ability to toggle visibility of custom fields for public link shares / guests.
I thought if you're making changes to the custom fields manager, it might be efficient to address this feature request at the same time. 😊
Eric Wightman
Adam Jaffrey: Ah I can't say for sure if that will be in the scope but I'll share that with the team!
Adam Jaffrey
Eric Wightman: Thanks! ❤️

It surprises me that this is something that has only 4 votes. I guess not many people use "public sharing" and "hide custom fields from guest" at the same time. I don´t see any reason why someone would like to hide fields from a guest but wanting to show them publicly at the same time. I think that for starters anything hided to guests should be hided from the public sharing.
Adam Jaffrey
Lega: This is also a pretty good idea, and could be a V1 iteration for this feature.
We use link sharing but don't ever use guests. So that's why we're wanting to customise the visibility of custom fields on our public link shares.

Customise custom field visibility on link shares
Adam Jaffrey
When sharing a task via link share, it would be great if we can customise which custom fields are visible.
We sometimes share views with clients but it would be good to customise which custom fields are visible in those views.
Sometimes custom fields contain internal information we don't want to share, so we would toggle off visibility for those fields when sharing public links.
