Guests (view-only/watchers) should be able to have the default view immediately applied upon viewing what was shared so they can see exactly what the project owner is intending them to see with the least amount of hassle. I believe that this would also make clickup more appealing to someone who is seeing it for the first time -- a type of advertising.
