Google Calendar: option for due dates only
Jake Spirek
I like to use the Google Calendar integration, and I like using start dates in ClickUp, but I don't necessarily always want the start date in my calendar view, where I only want to see deadlines.
Please add an option to only show due dates in the calendar. Thanks!

In some lists it's helpful to have both Gantt and calendar views. With Gantt views, having a start and end date make the visualization really helpful. But that gets very cluttered in calendar view if you have more than a few tasks that overlap on a given day. So I feel like I have to choose to either use Gantt view and include start dates, or use Calendar view and not include start dates, but ideally I could switch between the two. I know I can use a custom date field in the calendar and automate that to always match the regular due date which is a sort of decent workaround, but it's just another custom field to manage and if I'm aggregating tasks in a folder or space view, then the custom field has to be added to all lists. It also clutters up the card view in the calendar because it display that custom field which isn't really necessary because the card is already appearing on the due date, you don't also need the due date listed on the card.

I agree! Would love to just see the due dates. Having the start and end dates make the calendar very confusing to follow. Just having the due dates will give me more visibility.

Would be great to be see the calendar view just by due date, without the start date information

I run the content marketing, and while the start dates are helpful for me to start thinking about the next article, it makes the calendar almost unusable for anyone who wants a quick glance. Sorry if I'm being an idiot about this!

Is this change going to give us the ability to have non-all-day events without having to set a start date, start time, due date, and due time? (All day events can't be dragged in google calendar.) I would DEARLY love to be able to set one thing (due date) and it shows up as a regular event during the day in gcal.

We're updating our Google Calendar integrations right now, standby!

Zeb: woot! This will be great because having the start dates/times in there makes my calendar so crazy to look at. And hopefully there will also be an option to have the items fall off the calendar when completed. Thanks Zeb!

Zeb: Can we add the ability to show start/end dates separately in the Calendar view on ClickUp?
Sydney
Imran Esmail: Hey, Imran! Jumping in for Zeb here. Thank you for sharing your feedback! Would you ideally like to see the start date and the due date as two separate events on your calendar view with nothing connecting them?

Yea personally the calendar gets super messy if you're showing tasks straddling multiple dates. Especially with a full calendar.
I just want to see the end date and am not interested in when it started only when it's due. Others might be interested in the opposite. I was just thinking of showing one or the other which is not an option right now.
