Add more customisation syncing tasks → calendar (task-sync)
Ricardo Clerigo
Users want more customization when syncing tasks to google or outlook calendars.
For example:
- Choose what to put in the event title
- Keep or remove the sync emoji
- Choose what to put in the event description
- Choose wether to sync as free or busy (🔥 popular!)
- Choose wether to show closed tasks or not (🔥🔥 popular!)

Yes to all of these!! Changing the name so not everyone sees the location/pathway of the task would be so helpful. Also, if a task is deleted, deleting it from the calendar would be helpful.

View Parent Task in Google Calendar
Vinny
I have multiple tasks with the sub tasks. I can see the parent task of each within CU's calendar, but I can't find a way to make that happen in Google Calendar.

Google Calendar: option for due dates only
Jake Spirek
I like to use the Google Calendar integration, and I like using start dates in ClickUp, but I don't necessarily always want the start date in my calendar view, where I only want to see deadlines.
Please add an option to only show due dates in the calendar. Thanks!

Google Calendar Event Title Customization
Mike Harris
It would be great to change how much detail is included in the Google Calendar Event Title. Right now it's just the task name or subtask name. However, if the event title was "Folder > Task > Subtask" in my workflow that would translate to "Client Name > Project Name > Task" and would ultimately provide a lot more at-a-glance context when I look at my calendar.

task sync to google calendar

Syncing any task should be labeled as a task in google calendar and not as an event, putting a time in the task creates an event for that time and blocks out time since it is considering that task as an event

User wants a way to make it so that only tasks with certain definable traits (like having a certain tag) will sync to Google Calendar.

Remove closed tasks from Google calendar automatically

Currently tasks that have a due date show up on my calendar. This is intended and great behavior. But once the tasks are closed I would like to have them automatically removed. This is not happening atm and is causing a lot of clutter in my calendar. I think this would benefit us all :) (having a less cluttered calendar)

Busy/Free option in Google Calendar sync
Marni Business
It would be nice to be able to set a task as busy or free for the calendar sync with google. Right now it shows everything as busy which was messing with the ability for people to book into my schedule, so I had to turn google calendar syncing off. If I could set all tasks as free by default and then set certain ones as actually busy that would be beneficial.

Exclude subtasks from Google Calendar Sync
Pablo
I use tasks to track rentals of the space I own and subtasks to track all the things that have to be done around the rentals (like cleaning etc. - that my tenants are not supposed to see). I would like to sync ONLY my Clickup tasks with Google Calendar that I have embedded on my website (using busy/free GCal feature). Sadly right now sync feature seems to synchronize everything that is contained within the list.
Now when I think about it - being able to embed Clickup calendar month view (with busy/free feature) would be even better.

What gets synced during Google Calendar sync
Ryan Arnold
The two-way sync feature is amazing! I'd like to request that the information written in the description of the ClickUp task sync to the description section of the Google Calendar event. Currently, only the ClickUp folder, list, and link back to the task show up.
Another feature that would be beneficial is the ability to schedule a Google Meet directly from ClickUp.
