Goals v2
Ruud
I'm super impressed by the goals feature. I still made this topic to list some of the things that I noticed and I would think would make it potentially more powerful. Not yet sure if they are needed, just list them as I go.
- Allow owners to be linked to some people that can view a specific list. That way you make it automatic
- Allow to import tasks within a certain due date range, ideal for sprint planning. Allow to make this 'automatic' or 'import once', so you can make sure that things in the goals do or don't change automatically.
- Allow this to link even to project or space level, to get a top level view of progress in total.
- Allow to add lists to a goal afterwards
- I accidentally clicked some lists twice, allow to remove them in the selection and possibly block duplicate selections. Removing them now removes all occurrences of that list.
- When you add lists or tasks to e.g. a euro budget, I would make two progress bars. One for the target of money, one for the task target. That would feel more logical I think.
- When setting a target in value, allow to overshoot to see how well we did. Currently max value is the target value.
- Allow to add a task or list to a goal from the list or task itself.
- Add a burndown chart, comments (but I saw those are already planned in the video I think)
- Allow to monitor resources, as I consider this a 'bundle' of work. I would like to see an overview for each staff involved in this how many hours of estimated effort goes in
Probably many more once we start using it :) Loving it so far! I think this is a great feature as it is.

Building on this discussion.
Being able to view Goals on Roadmaps would be very useful.
Roadmaps work best for “larger” collections of work, call them what you like. Initiatives - which typically are a collection of Epics over a duration of say 6-12 weeks.
Or, Epics, which may span one or more Sprints, though probably no more than 3.
You want to be able to rollup or down, to see the Stories or Tasks below.
At first glance, Gantt view looks ideal, but you quickly hit limitations.
On a Gantt, you can “Group” by Status, Assignee, Pri, Tags - or a custom field… but not by... Goals or Key Results?
Goals as at now are like an afterthought, they are not 1st class citizen for how you think about work.
A useful Roadmap view, to support Portfolio Level Planning, would be:
* 1st level Swimlane “Group” > Objectives
* 2nd level Swimlane “Sub-Group” > Key Results or Targets
Then, Initiatives or Epics, that are related to these goals, with their own dependencies visible, shown on the Roadmap
As at now, creating a relationship between a Key Result & a task at any level of hierarchy, offers no contextual value.

Can we make Goals simplier and easier?
I'd also like to be able to link a full List with a predefined filter to calculate the sum of the Goals. Ex: all invoices would be summed to calculate a Money goal and see how far are we from the budget... or the opposite as well... how much budget we still have...

If you are going to keep the same UI for Goals. When searching for an item by browsing allow for all task types; it would be great to even a filter here.
This is our structure (because we need custom metadata a the project level and we cannot do this at the list level.
List (containing 50+ projects)
>>>Task Type "Project" at the first level
>>>>>>Task Type "Task", and "Milestone" as the sub-task levels
Project - Add Feature to Application
Task - Develop
Task - UAT
Milestone - MTP / Go Live
Connecting the projects to the goals more efficiently would help.
I echo on merge request below regarding the ability of the task to connect to a goal or multiple goals. In large organizations project.

My team interested in publicly sharing goals with clients that are outside of ClickUp so they can see progress on their projects from a high level, but not necessarily all the details. We'd use the goals section like Dominos Pizza uses the "pizza tracker" to see progress load over time towards the goal being met!!

Goals v2 should look like Tability with graphs, pie charts, comments, assignees, tasks from spaces etc.

It would be great if ClickUp Brain "knows" about your Goals and how they're structured - or also helps you create them alongside. Like I keep asking it to account for the ClickUp Goals - and it doesn't seem to know about them.

I made a target for true/false, but the person I assigned it to needed to make it task based.

Recurring Goals (or Habits)
Loving the new goals feature. One thing I would love to be able to do is create recurring goals either for creating habits or hitting targets that reset every day/week/month/year.
For example, I may have a goal to do x number of phone calls a week. So I can easily set this up by creating a goal that tracks completed tasks in a list, but every week I would have to create a new goal.
I would also like to be able to see this history so I can see in week 1 I hit it, in week 2 I didn't, etc.
Would probably need to be linked to due dates so that the phone calls I need to do next week don't negatively affect this week's goal.

Link Tasks to Goals from Tasks

It would be nice to be able to actually add tasks to Goals/Targets from within the Task itself, similar to how one would associate an Issue with a Sprint within Jira. Basically looking to use Goals for Sprints so can see tasks across multiple projects and lists instead of using lists in each project for sprints.

Without this working with goals is to complex! We need this!
