I’m an active user of ClickUp and very satisfied with the platform overall – especially its multilingual interface, cross-device synchronization, and intuitive structure.

However, one crucial feature is currently missing: the ability to perform a complete, automated backup of all workspace data, including:

Spaces, lists, and tasks

Comments and history

Links and task relationships

Docs and their references

Tags, custom fields, and metadata

Here’s what we’re looking for:

A full export of all content once per week

A reliable restore option in case of data loss or corruption

Preferably export formats like JSON, Markdown, or structured CSV

Ideally compatible with third-party tools like Coupler.io, Make, Rewind, or similar

A critical additional concern:

We would also like to understand if there is any way to access or rebuild our ClickUp workspace in case of a prolonged service disruption – for example, due to geopolitical sanctions, major outages, or sudden platform restrictions.

Given recent global instability and increasing inter-platform blockades, we are seeking a long-term backup strategy that includes offline accessibility or exit scenarios, in case ClickUp becomes temporarily or permanently unavailable.

Background:

We are in the process of building ClickUp as the central control platform for our company operations – including task management, internal documentation, product development, and international coordination.

We are currently on the [Unlimited / Business / Enterprise] plan (please adjust accordingly) – and are open to upgrading if a full backup + offline restore system is available or officially supported.

How can I generate a backup of the Clickup history and the different import and export options?

Is there the possibility of any additional service that you must export literally all the information that is within each task?

Since I have been testing an Excel export, I only get the basic, general information without more detail of each task such as comments, viewers, log of hours, etc...

I hope you can help me with additional information, I have been reviewing your videos and some Knowledge base that you have but I am still not complete, Could you help me with more information?

I share the image with the fields I need to generate the backup of the history of each task.

I want to be able to export an entire space and then import it without need for manipulating anything. Instead of csv, I suggest you use JSON or XML to retain the structure

What are the updates regarding having a full backup? I've been searching and can see multiple requests have been made about having a backup function, but don't seem to be finding any sort of resolution or timeframe from ClickUp. Surprised this is not already in place given that it appears the only actual backups right now are external, paid methods with other companies.

I’d like to request a feature that allows users to export all of their workspace data (tasks, lists, docs, attachments, dashboards, etc.) at once with a single click. Currently, exporting each type of data separately is time-consuming and makes it difficult to create a complete backup.

A unified “Export All” option would be extremely helpful for users who want to back up their entire workspace or migrate data. It would save time and provide peace of mind knowing that all information is safely stored.
