Format Date/Time output from Formula Field
I
Isabella de Castro Leite
Hi! I'm using the formula field to calculate the time I have left for a especific task, for example: I input the time I have to do the task in the "Time Estimated" field and in the "Time Tracked" field I insert the time I've spent doing the tasks. I created a formula field to calculate "Time estim. - Time tracked" but when I input minutes in the Time tracked field, it returns decimal numbers (ex: 2h - 2:34:00 = -0,5667). Is there any advanced editor I can use to have the results in minutes?
P.s.: I'm brazilian (sorry for my bad english) and I'm not a developer haha

Add text in formula results

Formula results in columns could say "71 Days" instead of just "71"
Add a formula variable called STRING("") or TEXT("") to allow us to added information within the results in column cells.
e.g. DAYS(field("Due date"),TODAY()) STRING(" Days")

Treat column type as DATE, When custom fields use any of the DATE formulas
Sam
Example, a custom field calculates a new date based on an existing date column. However the calculated custom field does not have the "date" type, nor does it act like a date and can't be set as a date. If calculated formula fields use functions that return a known type, the column should be converted to that type.

Creating Dates with Time Using Formulas

At the moment there is no way to display a custom date and time using custom field formulas. The most you can do is a date (no time), an hour amount, or a minute amount. It would be useful so the formula fields can be used to calculate custom date and times based on time estimations.

Advanced Editor - Being able to edit units of countdown

You can use this formula- DAYS(field("Maturity Date"),TODAY()) to create a countdown clock that tracks how many days are left until a certain date. However, it would be great to be able to choose what unit the countdown is showing. I.e. how many months, weeks, hours, etc. are in the countdown clock.

Finer difference methods for dates (e.g. Minutes, Hours)
Hossein Taleghani
When we are working with something like incidents, diffrences in times are as small as minutes or hours, but at the moment there as only a formula to find the difference between two dates in Days. It would be nice to have Minutes and Hours formula.
An alternative would be having a function to convert dates to/from Unix time (in millisecods), which allows user to calculate diffrences like any numeric values.

Option to format Formula field results as time

I created a custom field called “Time Left” that subtracts “Time Tracked” from “Time Estimate.” However, the resulting format of the number doesn’t appear as time.
In the screenshot below, I’d prefer to see the first “Time Left” number (currently “6.27”) formatted as “6h 45m” or at least “6:45:00”. This is especially problematic with fractional amounts like the second number (“0.5274”). I’d prefer the second number to be formatted as “32m” or at least “0:31:39”.

This works for me, although sometimes doesn't show the correct value in list view until opening the task detail and closing it again.
CONCATENATE(
ROUNDDOWN(field("Time estimated in hours")-field("Time tracked in hours"),0)
,"hr ",
(60 * ((field("Time estimated in hours")-field("Time tracked in hours")) - ROUNDDOWN(field("Time estimated in hours")-field("Time tracked in hours"),0))),
" min"
)
