Folder Icon should not open Folder Color menu
not on the roadmap
Brendon McCarthy
New folder colors are nice but we lost the ability to open/close a folder by clicking on the actual folder. Typical UI in so many systems is to click on a folder to open it. Now when you click on the Folder, it opens the color selector. Most users are only going to change the color once in awhile so it would make more sense to move this to the folder dots menu. Furthermore, the open/close icon to the left is much smaller than the Folder icon itself and more likely to click on the Folder than the arrow.

Change the UI for folder colors
Martin Kjellberg
The current implementation of how to select folder colors is not as smooth as it could be:
* If your sidebar is automatically collapsing, it closes and the color picker is still open.
To expand/collapse the folder, you have to click
slightly* before the folder. It would feel more natural to click on the folder for expand/collapse and having the color picker in the dot-dot-dot menu. Also, how often do you need to change a folder color? 🤔
Here's a video on how it looks, doing these two things: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m5antk2ghcwcs9w/folder%20color.webm?dl=0

Please move folder color changing

We are
constantly
clicking the folder in order to open/close it and getting the color popup instead. Is it possible to move it to the dot-dot-dot menu next to the folder instead? 🙏 Now, you need to click slightly in fron of the folder to open or collapse it...Photo Viewer
